Why a shell

Padding hopes.
A shell decides.

Almost every laptop bag is a soft sack with a padded pocket sewn into it. That arrangement works right up until the moment it matters — the overhead locker, the boot of a taxi, the floor of a train carriage — because padding only slows an impact down. It doesn't stop the bag folding around whatever is inside it.

The Vault is built the other way round. A moulded ABS front panel holds its shape under load, so pressure travels across the shell instead of into the machine behind it. The same rigidity is what lets a combination lock actually mean something: on a soft bag a lock is theatre, because the fabric gives. On this one the zip is the only way in.

It is a slim ten centimetres closed, which is a commuter bag. Run the expansion zip and it opens to seventeen, which is two days of clothes. One bag, both jobs, and no second bag to own.

20–35L

Capacity

Twenty litres closed, thirty-five with the expansion zip run. Laptop, charger, a change of clothes and a washbag.

17"

Laptop compartment

A dedicated padded interlayer behind the shell, sized to take a full 17-inch machine flat.

1.5kg

Empty weight

Light enough that the bag is not part of the load, in moulded ABS hard shell.

In detail

Six things it does that a soft bag can't.

Moulded ABS shell

The faceted front panel is injection-moulded ABS rather than stiffened fabric. It takes an impact across the whole face and holds its shape under weight in a locker or a boot.

TSA combination lock

A three-dial lock closes through both zip pulls on the main compartment. TSA-approved, so airport security opens it with a master key rather than cutting the zip away.

Expands by 7cm

An expansion zip runs the depth of the bag. Closed it sits at ten centimetres and reads as a commuter pack; open it runs to seventeen and takes a weekend.

USB pass-through

A port on the outside is wired to a short cable in the main compartment. Connect your own power bank and charge a phone without unzipping. No battery is included — the port carries power, it doesn't store it.

Trolley sleeve

A webbing sleeve across the back panel slides over a suitcase handle, so through an airport the bag travels on the case instead of on you.

Three finishes

Black, graphite and silver. The shell is textured rather than gloss on all three, so it holds fingerprints far less than a polished case would.

Delivery

Dispatched within two working days. UK delivery takes 10–18 working days, as each bag ships direct from our manufacturing partner rather than sitting in a warehouse. Tracking is emailed the moment it leaves.

Returns

Change your mind within 30 days and send it back unused for a full refund, including standard outbound postage. Your statutory right to cancel within 14 days of delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 sits inside that, untouched.

If something is wrong

Email us and we will replace the bag or refund you in full. Nothing on this page affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
